#1 North Africa DCAS Training Event to Support Climate Resilience for Smallholder Agriculture

Dear Digit Agri North Africa Community, 

It is our pleasure to invite you to the first DCAS awareness and training event in North Africa. Co-hosted by GCA, Global Center on Adaptation, and IFAD, International Fund for Agricultural Development, the DCAS North Africa 2024 training event is bringing together public and private key change makers from the North African region, who have the capacity to scale–up digital climate advisory services in their countries. The North Africa learning event is co-organized with Knowledge Economy Foundation/ Bashaier Agribusiness Platform, an Egyptian NGO leading in digital agriculture in Egypt and will adopt  a "Training of the Trainers" (TOT) format to inform and strengthen the capacity of selected public and private actors to share knowledge, best practices and experiences, as well as explore latest innovation and approaches that can promote the adoption of DCAS in their countries. 

 

Hybrid training event

The seminar on DCAS will take place over two days, March 4th and 5th, 2024,in Cairo, Egypt. It will be in a hybrid format allowing through live streaming the participation of a larger audience. Translation in Arabic, English and French available

 

Participation

North Africa relevant agricultural government agencies,  private sector operators, national research institutions and universities, farmers’ organizations leaders, women and youth involved in agriculture value chains, SMEs, NGOs, development partners.50 on-site participants selected from: Algeria, Egypt, Libya, Mauritania, Morocco, Tunisia. 100 to 150 participants online.

 

Outcomes

Enhanced capacity of agricultural stakeholders in public institutions and private operators across North Africa to invest in digital agriculture advisory services solutions. Establishment of a community of practice among the interested operators in the agrifood sector in North Africa across public and private entities.
